5 /5 Jen Weiss: I’m responding to the 1star review posted 11/29/23. I’m a customer who was in the salon getting a pedicure when the reviewer came in. All 3 of the nail techs were working with customers but one stepped away to ask how she could help.
The reviewer asked to be seen & was told they were done for the day and couldn’t take her. (There were 3 employees and all were booked until closing.) They offered to see her tomorrow & asked what services she wanted. She said she wanted dip powder and was told this salon does not do dip but they do acrylics. Then, the tech helpfully suggested another salon within 2 blocks that does dip. The reviewer said thanks & walked away.
About 5 minutes later she came in again. She said “excuse me” a couple of times, but all the techs had their back to her & did not hear her. When she got the attention of one of them, after maybe 20 seconds of waiting for the tech to turn back toward her, she immediately asked why they told her they were closing.
Everyone looked confused & said, “no we aren’t closing. We’re done for the day. We aren’t taking anyone else today” The reviewer insisted they said they were closing. They absolutely did not. They said they were “done for the day” which I see how she misunderstood.
Then a few minutes later another customer - the one the review said walked in after she was turned away - found this review. This customer walked in after the reviewer because she had a 2:45 appointment she had scheduled.
The 1-star review is a garbage review. This reviewer came in, misunderstood what the tech told her, was culturally insensitive, then accused them without any cause. And they couldn’t provide the service she wanted, so they suggested another salon who could. I call that above-and-beyond customer service.
By the way, they took great care of me, my daughter, and my mom (we all had appointments). The tech working with my mom understood she had greater patience as she has Parkinson’s Disease causing involuntary hand & foot movements.
This is the best experience I’ve had of the 4 salons I’ve been to since moving to Carlsbad & we’ve already booked our next appointment.
