I had been searching for a new salon for more than a year until I found Salon One and they certainly earned my loyalty. I have been seeing Tina for a couple of years now and shes been able to turn my very dark, dull, and brittle hair into this gorgeous shade of ashy blond, while restoring the health of my hair. She is also extremely knowledgeable and will recommend you strategies to best take care of your hair long term. If you are looking for a new stylist in the Bay Area at a very reasonable price, Salon One is the place to go!
Fig & Clover - Oakland Danielle Fischer: Lauren is amazing. I have wavy curly hair, and its been tricky to find some one who knows how to cut it. I had some pretty specific requests, and she delivered on all fronts. She started our appointment with a consultation, asking me about my preferences and really seeking to understand what I wanted in terms of shape and day-to-day. This is the first time in many years that Ive loved my hair cut -- and fwiw Ive gone to upscale salons (and random salons) throughout SF, SoCal, and DC. Im planning to just go to Lauren from now on. She was also super nice and friendly. The salon is sooo cute, and the neighborhood is great too. Highly recommend

Sessions Salon - Alameda Michelle Zhang: Kelly is the best. From consultation to appointment to the recommendations for hair products afterwards, Kelly remained super easy to communicate with and professional. Have her dyed my hair, bleached first then add a toner with a color I showed her in a picture. She replicated the color without a flaw and made the long 6 hour appointment flew by. Here’s a hair stylist who clearly knows what she’s doing and enjoying what she does.Would definitely do my hair again with her and would highly recommend! Her assistant did a good job as well!!
Joey Stevenson - Oakland Rachel E: This was my first time booking a curly cut with Joey, but it will not be my last. I got a hydrating mask, a toner, a trim with layers, and styling. Joey took to the time to figure out what I wanted but was able to give advice when I was choosing between two different color toners. The execution was perfection and I’m obsessed with the results. My curls look and feel better than ever and I’m struggling to keep my fingers out of my hair.
Joey has a very warm personality, communicates well, and ensures that you are comfortable and cozy while getting your haircut. Little touches like having a stocked fridge and snacks, fidget toys, and an electric blanket for the back of the chair just added to the overall experience. I cannot recommend enough as this was the best overall haircut experience I have ever had.
Studio M Salon - Alameda Virginia D.: Brooklyn is amazing. Ive been to a number of different curly stylists over the years and shes been a breath of fresh air. Shes extremely talented, dedicated to only curly hair, and really fun to chat with in the salon. I couldnt ask for a better experience.
The initial consultation was awesome, she took the time to ask questions about my hair, take notes, and play around with my curls to really understand my needs before doing any cutting. Since then, everytime I come in she take a moment to see whats changed before diving in.
One of my favorite things about Brooklyn is that she takes each persons hair needs into consideration and includes hair treatments in the cost of her service instead of trying to upsell.
If youre looking for a curl specialist, consider Brooklyn! Shes spectacular.
SKYE SALON - Oakland Moah Lee: Elvia is FANTASTIC!! She did my hair very pretty! I actually went there for get the hair straightening but she looked my hair and been super honest! My hair is shiny and also already straight just some on my bangs little wavy. So she recommended just get some haircut then that will make it look nicer! But I wanted to get lil more changes so I decide also get some highlights too. Even choosing color she really knows hair SO Well!! So I just leave it up to her and the results are Fantastic!! And I really appreciate her not all about the money. She is super honest and super professional and even taught me how to style my hair. Anyways it is so long review but Because it was pretty impressive this place is. They even so cautious with COVID too so how they schedule for clients I personally very appreciate it.

Wild Orange - Alameda Rebecca Peterson: I had a lovely first appointment with Jessica Cowart. I get a pretty basic cut (basically I just get the ends of my long hair tapered). She was attentive to my pre-appointment notes and in-studio requests, and Im super happy with the cut she gave me! Plus she was very friendly and pleasant to chat with. Studio is small and whimsical, loved the atmosphere.
