06-2025 Bauer Park in Hight rate 19 location for tourist in Huntington Beach, CA, USAHuntington Beach Central Park West - Huntington Beach Richard Chau Nguyen: On Memorial Day, my family went there. It was a beautiful place with trees, lakes and birds. I could walk around the beautiful natural lake, large with a comfortable path, with flocks of wild birds, geese and pelicans swimming around. The children had their own play area, climbing and sliding. Some played in the sand, flew kites. Families gathered in groups and camped or had outdoor parties. The air was warm. It was an early summer day, not too hot, and of course the children were starting their vacation. The parking lot layout, the planting and naming of plants made the children excited because they learned a lot. The flowers were colorful. We spread out a tarp and sat down in the grass for a light lunch, then the children explored the squirrels dens and tried to take turns running around the park. It was a relaxing day and we will be back there to enjoy the natural freshness the next day
Harriett M. Wieder Regional Park - Huntington Beach Jenny L.: Harriett M. Wieder Regional Park covers about 4 acres, plus it connects to around 30 more acres of natural habitat. It’s located near the Huntington Beach, Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve, and some oil fields, a pretty unique area!
There’s a Fitness Zone, and a newly renovated playground for different age groups. If you walk a bit farther, you can get to a trail near Overlook Park.
No street parking so you’ll need to park in the small on-site lot. Dogs are allowed, and there’s a public restroom.
Pacific Coast Highway - Huntington Beach C C: Long stretch of scenic road with breathtaking view of the blue sea. The people around enjoy the heat of summer, basking in the sunshine! This place is a must see!
Dog Beach - Huntington Beach erik thomstad: First Trip to the Dog Beach – A Wonderful Experience!
Today was a special day! I took my brother and my dog to the dog beach for the very first time, and it turned out to be such a memorable experience. It was my dog’s first time ever stepping on sand and playing in the ocean. Watching him react to the feel of the sand beneath his paws and the waves splashing at his feet was absolutely entertaining.
At first, he was clearly overstimulated and unsure of what was going on. He was especially hesitant around the other dogs, unsure if he wanted to join in the fun. There were lots of big dogs running around, playing fetch, and splashing in the surf—it was a lot for him to take in.
He was anxious and overstimulate. He was unsure of his surroundings and unsure of the water when the waves came up to him.
The beach itself had such a calm, welcoming vibe. It was the perfect way to unwind and bond—with both my dog and my brother. We’ll definitely be going back, but more prepared.
Huntington Beach Downtown Business Improvement District - Huntington Beach Cate Keeler: The downtown sidewalks are crusted with ice cream spills, vomit residue, sticky soda spills, old gum, and a vague aroma of urine and alcohol. The BID is supposed to power wash the area, but they don’t seem to bother. The downtown area is filled with aging hipsters, spaced out crackheads, hobos and drunken hooligans looking for a fight. The positive reviews on this site are probably spam from The chamber of commerce.
Humboldt Park - Huntington Beach Long Tran: Great place for water sports like kayaking, paddling, and swimming. The water is very clean, and the views of Huntington Beach Harbour are beautiful. Perfect spot to enjoy a day on the water!
Maidu Museum & Historic Site - Roseville Yonkers Channel: Unfortunately, the second story of the museum was closed. The displays are interesting, can just about finish viewing the museum in less than an hour. We did take advantage of the outdoor dining area just outside the museum before taking the .25 mile walking trail around the federally preserved land. Though we missed the scheduled guided walking tour, the docent generously volunteered to take us around after we finished our picnic lunch. She provided us with interesting facts about the area, but part of the trail was closed. Its an ok museum, there are more interesting ones around the Sacramento region. Its not one Id look to come back too, but maybe if I had out of town guests and looking for something to show them.
