From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed and made to feel comfortable. Our Pastors (Leonard and Valorie Mancini) are humble, but MIGHTY servants of the Lord. Their mission statement “Reaching, teaching, mending, and sending” is an ever present spirit in the congregation, as they meet each member where they are, and encourage us to dig deeper and draw closer in our walk with the Lord. BLW will forever hold a precious place in my heart. May God continue to bless and keep this beautiful ministry.

1 /5 isela villlalobos: The living conditions for the rehab center are horrid and I don’t recommend it and the way these people seem kind and trusting when you met them but behind doors they act different. I just hope things change for the best In this place because every church setting should be a place of refuge and a place of healing.

3 /5 David Miller: Hello good afternoon I am Rachel Miller the wife of David Miller we attended this Sunday that pass service with our two grandsons. Our grandsons loved the Sunday children class! David and I had a beautiful experience worshiping the Lord at this church. I Rachel was doing some searching on social media for churches to attend to see where we feel comfortable and where the preaching is powerful! The worship music was absolutely beautiful we loved how everyone was engaging in singing definitely felt the Holy Spirit present! The Preacher’s message was powerful and so true! When we first arrived everyone was so gracious and loving in Christ. We met the Pastor’s wife she was very kind and asked us a few questions and our name and acknowledged us that was very sweet of her and everyone clapped and it was nice to be received in such a loving manner. We felt very comfortable and I decided to go up to the altar for prayer as many did. As I was praying a lovely sister came up to me and began to pray it was powerful however as she began to pray she was somewhat intimidating and somewhat forceful none the less I stayed and received her message that she said was from God. I believe that the Lord uses us as vessels and as she began to pray she began to preach to me about my tattoos and how the Lord told her to tell me to not get no more! As she proceeded she said I see you have the virgin of Guadalupe on your arm that’s a false idol pagan the Lord is a jealous God! I know He is! I know what false idols are… I know enough not to worship false gods and idols… I know that in the old testament there are scriptures of it because of the Israelites. There is nothing that says because of tattoos your going to hell… We are all imperfect , we are all sinners, we all have a past. She said the Lord says don’t get more tattoos! Mind you I had I have zero intentions of getting more tattoos. With all do respect the sister doesn’t know me. Doesn’t know that I was born in a catholic family was baptized as a baby , made my first holy communion, went to catholic school . That I have a reason behind the tattoo of Jesus on one arm and the virgin on the other. My father and I were very close and had a special relationship with and I went to Catholic Church with him every Sunday until his last day on earth. He was battling an illness that ultimately took his life and was very religious and I respected my father and his beliefs although I no longer agreed on them I knew the truth! I love my Heavenly Father I live for HIM! I put God first before everything! I serve one true GOD! The Lord knows my heart . He knows what I once was . I was a lost soul but HE forgave me. HE freed me! Hallelujah My husband and really enjoyed the sermon! I just felt judged and I am in agreement what the sister said as far as the false idols and the Lord is a jealous God. But I can’t feel like I have to cover up to be excepted and I know the Lord has forgiven me. My husband wants to attend again but I am still indecisive. What do know is I love everyone and I don’t forget where I came from before I came to Christ and I know I never want to go back to the world. I’m truly at peace for the first time in my life. I just wanted to share my experience on Sunday. Thank you to the brother who has been reaching out to my husband.. God bless you all

First Presbyterian Church Bakersfield - Bakersfield

Lara Batchelder: The deacons did NOT keep their word. I was to be given an assembled shed and, unpacking assistance. However, an unassembled shed remains in my yard and, I’d of NO use. A check for medications, from the vet, to someone homebound, is of no use. As of now, little progress has been made. In October, 2022, Pastor Jeff stated that he would contact me in about two weeks. I followed up two more times but, he did NOT respond. I have an unassembled shed with no warranty. Im physically disabled. I was given a fan but, I had already searched online for a couple hours for the one liked much better. I placed a request to Deacon H, for a dog ramp, who, apparently, never submitted it nor, got back to me about it. The same Deacon H dropped off a check, for pet meds, to some who is nearly homebound, with a non-operational car which, I informed her of. The check was not deposited. I purchased vet meds, with my own money, to be delivered. My service animal / dog was very sick. The cost of the prescriptions at the vet had increased in price by the time the deacons check arrived at my vets office for a past exam. My relationship with my vet was damaged in the deacons miscommunication and, slow mailing of payment. Deacon J offered to contact someone on my behalf but, never did. Deacon J stayed that she would go pick the service animal medication but, never did nor, inform me that she was not doing so. Both deacons were aware I needed labor to unpack but, never stayed how to bill. At this point, First Pres, specifically Pastor Jeff, has made a a conscience decision of omission in fulfilling the deacons commitment to me. Let your yes be yes and, your no be no.

This is ridiculously frustrating discouraging what this day was done for such a big event as a sacrament it is in a childs life... 2 long years kids go through classes to receive the Eucharist and they are excited just like family and friend to receive something so special so great that the way this was organized and how little of detail this was given is such a shame that as parents we had to be seated in another room watching our kids via zoom with bad audio.! Having to explain to family how they must stand while some sit while some are hogging empty seats whoever is in charge of this event is too old to be here she made it clear "lamont is old fashion, we dont do that here" but at least they have common sense not to have all 4 classes at once ruin such a meaningful day as this was .... Frustration is not even close !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!¡

erica rey: This church is right behind our home and just set off a ton of fireworks. It’s November 6th. There is a retirement home right across from them. No notifications were sent out to the surrounding neighbors. My poor dog is still shaking and now my anxiety is so bad my medication isn’t working. On a separate annoyance they put in new lights over a year ago and one in particular shines so bright into our living room and bedroom, we’ve called about it and nothing has come of it.

thomas shockley: My family and I have been going to this church for awhile now and what a blessing it is. The teaching is 100% gospel centered. We open our bibles and study every Sunday. Midweek is great also for more deep study/discussion on doctrine. It truly does live up to its name in making disciples as we’ve been called to do! Members of the church are very loving and from all walks of life. Seeing Gods work in and through our church is absolutely amazing! Our kids also love the teaching and their teachers. Highly recommended for seasoned church goers looking to grow or for new comers (as I was). Saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone!
