The day before the car engine seemed like it was shaking and I put in some Royal Purple to see if that would help. 5 to 7 days before I accidently let my car run out of fuel and saw it could have gunked it up and caused these issues. When i took it in I got a quick analyses and confirmed thats what happened and told me i was good to go on my way just keep it running to circulate the royal purple. No charge for the diagnostic and seems like a decent guy and business.

5 /5 George Delcastillo: On 2/27/2025 I was out of town in Buena Park to watch my granddaughter softball game when I realized my truck was overheating. Warning lights flashing so I pulled over. I had to get my truck to a mechanic to replace my water pump so i wouldn’t do major damage to my 2018 Chevy Silverado. I called 5 STAR KAR auto repair in Buena Park. I spoke to Tony Jr. and said I needed help replacing my pump and could he help me today. Tony assured me that he could replace and repair my issues today. Tony quoted me with a reasonable price with a GM quality water pump and labor price. Within 1 1/2 hrs Tony replaced and checked my coolant system and said in good to go. I was so relieved that not only could I make it back home I even had time to catch my daughter game. Thank you so much Tony for your courtesy and professionalism . I will recommend your business to my friends and family who live in your area.

Catherine Do: I am so sad that this place have let me down so horribly. I have been coming here for years for my oil change but now I will not be coming back. This place did not screw back the underbody engine cover tightly enough on my last oil change and this weekend I took my family to Las Vegas and the cover came loose! It was during the middle of the night pitch black on the 15 highway and I had to pull over twice to get it looked at because the cover would drag on the road and cause a huge noise and possibly spark. Their negligence in putting back the engine cover tightly enough put my family and myself in serious danger that night. We almost got hit several times as we had to drive extra slowly to make it off the highway to a gas station where we can have more light to look at the issue. Cars were also passing me super closely when I had to pull over to the side of the highway. Please train your mechanic better! You are putting peoples lives at risk when you are sloppy in your work!!!

Scott Delgado: The biggest fear most people have when it comes to going to the mechanic is honesty. Ive lived in Santa Ana for over 2 years now, and I finally needed to find a mechanic. I checked out Autocare Express, and Im very pleased with them. Kevin is very good with communicating, and he doesnt just dismiss an issue or think he has all of the answers. I was having door lock issues, and he researched the problem online to make sure his course of action would work. After ordering a part, installing it, and fixing the issue, Kevin wanted to make sure the issue was indeed fixed and that I was satisfied. He let me have my vehicle back (without paying), so I could drive it for a couple of days and make sure things seemed to be sorted out. Finding a mechanic you can trust is one thing. Finding a mechanic who trusts YOU is a whole other thing. My vehicle is running smoothly, and Im very pleased with this place. Im glad that I can now say I have a local mechanic I trust to go to when I have issues with my vehicle. I definitely recommend this place. Parking can be a bit crazy due to the other businesses around the shop, but if you call them, they can instruct you where to park, such as in their shop. Dont let parking deter you. This place is good.
