MARTIN ARBOLEDA Horrible service. Took my car for an air conditioner replacement, after replaced, car had a malfunctioning sound coming from the a/c compressor. Took the car back several times in order to further assess, yet the owner never took responsability for this poor repair, leaving the car with a compressor sound not present before repair. Owner gets mad stating its not his responsability. Also, as soon as you go into the shop, all you see are broken engines, for which the owner says they always break. This guy is not professional. Nor are his mechanics. They lack mechanic knowledge “ if you replace a transmission the engine may break” he literally said this Wouldnt not recommend this to nobody. Bunch of headaches dealing with this guy. At the end of the day he never took responsability for the A/C sound and had to get this issue taken care off in another shop. Eddy is what he likes to be called. Avoid headaches, find another shop. Also, dirty shop, bunch of broken car parts…. Bunch of redflags i wish i had seen earlier. Kindly

Julio Lopez 2019 Ford F-250 Got Carli 2.5 Inch leveling kit with all new shocks 35 inch tires R/Ts 20X12 Fuel wheels 5 star highly recommend better then the other lift shop they don’t know what they’re doing I had a bad experience there. Highly recommend this shop for suspension work and my truck now gets compliments for the lift kit and tires!

Yovanna Bravo Professional. Great customer services. And fair prices. Needed help with getting a headlight bulb replaced- brought my own bulb. In and out in 15 minutes or less with my specific car type during my lunch break. Will be coming back for future repairs.

Diana murray Torres Auto Service Engines & transmissions in Salinas is a service I would highly recommend, they immediately prioritized servicing my vehicle. I was more than 300 miles from home, single elderly female. Their work was efficient & timely, plus very reasonably priced. Not the greatest shop, but easily within walking distance to restaurant & "In & Out Burger". They explained the diagnostics & did fluid tests to make sure car would get me home safely.

Lexie Nishihara My family has been taking their cars to European Auto for years and they do not disappoint. They are very honest and will not rip you off. I took my car in for an issue and Juan determined what the issue was. He recommended I take it to the BMW dealership because he was almost positive it was covered under warranty. I thanked him for being honest as it was under warranty. I cannot recommend them enough, as they will get your car in and out and do a great job!

Anthony J. Ballamis CAUTION! Called to see about an oil pressure check for my 08 Audi. I have a good friend who was a Master tech for 27 years who gives me advice - and Im pretty handy, but not a full mechanic. They quoted me $240 to do an oil pressure check. The dealership (Audi of the Monterey Peninsula) will do an entire engine diagnostic with factory trained master techs for . . . That exact same price - $240. Read a lot of reviews and the 5 stars are all simple "good service, really nice" (people who dont know about cars) and most of the 1 star reviews had details making it obvious the person actually has mechanical knowledge, a few with specific details that they lied or tried to unplug sensors to get more work. Seems like they specialize in European cars because theyre expensive (so you can charge high for service) and many folks with euro cars arent gearheads or wrenches - more typically people with $ and into luxury stuff (easily overcharged w/lack of knowledge and happy with "good customer service" & attitude - when theyre really getting took). Its tough, but if you know a friend or family member whos a mechanic or with good knowledge, always consult them first. Shops like this are hit and miss, you can look to save a few bucks and end up paying hundreds or thousands more than the dealer.

Andre Garcia Gabriel is the man! He was so understanding of the busy schedule my wife and I have and was still able to squeeze us in. He replaced a starter on my 2005 Acura TL and I gotta say Gabriel really knows what he is doing. Did it so quickly and with ease. I highly recommend him for any auto repair jobs you may need and I will be calling him again if I need any more work done. 10 out of 10 in my book. Couldn’t be happier

Kyle Celso Progressive Auto Repair was professional from the very beginning to the very end of my experience. Communication and transparency of the work was amazing. They were able to quote, repair, and gain a new returning customer all in one day. Hands down the best experience I have had with an independent shop. If you are NOT a mechanical type person, let these guys do their jobs and get to the root cause of your issues. After seeing the work performed and in the time they did it, you better believe they have the knowledge and skills to work on all cars. If you ARE a mechanical minded person and need a shop to help with a job you cannot do at home, I highly recommend reaching out and seeing if they can accommodate you, as they did me. Ray Norma (Darla) My Kia Rondo was making a strange squealing noise. Star told me to bring it in at 7:30am . I called for a taxi to take me home but by 9:30 still no taxi and no one in the shop had looked at my car. Finally got home around 10:30. Waited for someone to call and let me know the verdict , but no one called all day and it was a Friday. Finally by 5:00 I called but no one answered the phone They were closed. Saturday, I ask my Sister in law to take me there to check on my car. The shop was closed but there was someone inside. My car had been sitting on the street all night. I walked inside and the person there said my car was finished and I could take it . I ask what I owed but he said he didnt deal with paperwork . I could have just left and paid nothing but Im not that kind of person. The whole thing made me very un easy feeling. No one had given me any estimate. or even a clue what was needed . But, the noise was still not gone. Monday morning I went back to see what was going on. A young man handed me an invoice for $518.00 . They had replaced my alternator. I had not had any problems with my Alternator but now I had a new , very expensive one, and the noise was still there. Now, I had previously purchased a new Serpentine belt and left it on the seat just in case they had to remove the old one for any reason. I was charged 66.50 for a belt they claimed to have purchased from R & R. But the belt I left on the seat was missing . They told me that there was a dead circuit in my Alternator but I was having no problem with that at all. I also paid 9.48 for some kind of fuse. I read the other reviews and thought this might be my new place for all my service needs. I had to go to another shop that fixed the original problem which was a AC pulley bearing making the noise. There was no reason for Star Tune to be like that. I am not a wealthy person but I dont mind paying for honest work.

Mike Tran Came here for 2 separate smog checks in one day, Jose is a good and friendly guy, when other places said its too late he still took me in. Fast service too, plus they can take Apple/Google/Samsung Pay.

Hardo Baker they not only passed my smog but fix my truck when my check engine light was on real cheap. i was watching them and they were working on it for 4 hours, the truck up in the air where they had to remove the gas tank. For parts and labor they charged me $136.00 total. Can you believe that! Ive been back to them twice since with my wifes car and for another issue i had with my truck which had 212,000 miles on it.

Janette T Excellent service! Steven made the whole process easy for a first timer to the car repair world, We were frantic with an un-drivable car due to a bent wheel/tire due to hitting a curb. He was Very knowledgeable and explained issues in detail and plan of repair. Was able to get the car in same day, they accepted it from the tow company and started working on it without me having to physically be there which is a game changer in todays busy world this was by far the highlight for me and avoided having a delay in repairing the vehicle. The communication was also excellent I was aware of everything every step of the way and received the quotes in detail for me to approve the work. Alphonse Weeks My partner and I went to get our car smog (Volvo 1983) and everywhere else we reached out to were either to expensive or wouldnt/couldnt work on her because of how old she is. Thankfully these guys were able to and were so sweet the entire time. I recommend coming here for any smog and if I was planning to stay in Salinas I would be going to them for any and all repairs. 10/10 would come back again.
