Zanna Liedike Pulled in to get an estimate on an A/C diagnostic. The mechanic came out and greeted me right away. He asked me a few questions and asked to pull the car into the lift. After 2 mins he determined I needed a few small valves and a recharge. Did the work right away and I was out in less than an hour. A/C works!! Great experience and very reasonable cost. Will definitely go back.

Amber Gasdiel-Goldberg My husband and I will only be taking our vehicles to Sam’s Auto from now on! We stopped in to see if we could get our oil changed without an appointment and Mike was so helpful and they were able to squeeze us right in. They were quick and efficient on the oil change, he also let us know our brake pads had about 20% life left in them, so they didn’t need to be changed right away but something we should plan for in the next few months. Mike was kind enough to give us a military discount as well. My husband has taken our vehicles here a few times now, we would highly recommend Mike and his guys for any vehicle needs including smog inspections!

Jesus Sanchez This place was great, I have a 2005 blue van and my van was having some issues, i took the van for the smog at Mikes Auto Repair and first time did not pass so they told me to drive the car and come back, I dis and still did not pass, they reset computer and drove car one more time and went back and this time it did pass, they were very knowledgeable and they did not make me pay extra for checking again and also they did not make me do any huge repair if it was not necessary. Very good service, thank you.

Nathan Stensvad Juan was super helpful and nice throughout the whole ordeal. He inspected my car and found the problem and fixed it. Reasonably priced and quick service as well. Definitely will come back again.

Tiny really knows his stuff and warns me when there is something that I should look into fixing in the future w/ prices included. He has also allowed me to bring in my own parts for installation which no other place allows! Highly recommend!!

santos Bestia Horrible service. I came here because I was sent by discount Tire due to them breaking a lug from my front wheel. They fixed it fast here. BUT now when I back up.. it makes a noise I never heard before from my vehicle. Now Im back having my time wasted when this should have been fixed the 1st time the right way. Spending my day driving back and forth due to this is a total waste of time and day. Theu claim a rock hot into the shield...how? Didnt you guys clear the debrief there was any before putting the wheel back on? How does a rock get in there only after you work on it? I find it hard to believe. I will be going back to discount Tire and letting know of this as well

E. Quentin I had been looking around for a reliable place to have the oil changed & a tune up on my car. I saw the 5 star rating on this place & gave them a try. I have to say I am very pleased with the work done on my car. They are friendly & professional. Definite 5 stars!!!

Henry Jacobsen I was in a rush to get my car smogged so I could spend hours in line at the DMV. I called Tiger at TJ Auto, and he told me to come right over. When I arrived, I was a little worried about whether my car was ready to pass. I handed him the keys, and in about 15 minutes, it was done—and it passed! He totally saved my day. I made it to the DMV, got my tags, and now my car is good to go. Not only does TK handle smog checks, but he’s also a great go-to for repairs. Highly recommended—this is my new spot for smog checks! Josue Torres Paid thousands of dollars, that Im still paying off today, only to find out that the same problem still consists today. Highly recommend not going to this mechanic for more complicated car issues. Maybe for just the basics, which are cheap and simple fixes. But his tire shop is cheap and recommendable where his tires get the job done at a cheap price.

Gloria Moreno Had an unfortunate accident that really disabled my drivers side door. I can no longer open or lower window. Door is severely damaged. Went in to get an estimate and was given a Fair price. Valentin initiated a ticket to commence the work. He immediately suggested and referred me to someone else that could do body work. Numbers were exchanged. Needless to say I had to pay partial payment to get job started. Later that afternoon I received a phone call from Mr. Valentin and suggested that I go with the referral and not double pay. He asked me to stop by location and retrieve a full refund. My review wants to emphasize the appreciation of great customer service encompassing of honest labor. Now a days that quality speaks volumes for the individual and the shop it represents. Would trully recommend this service to anyone. Good mechanics, true to their word .

S D 25 years ago, I brought in a 1980 Honda Prelude to Petes for an engine rebuild. They got it done at a reasonable price, but unfortunately I had to let that car go. Unfortunate because I wouldnt be taking it into Petes anymore. Thats until we got a Honda Pilot that needed its 100k maintenance. The stealership wanted $6k for the service. Granted, its a lot of work: replace the timing belt, drive belt, spark plugs, etc. Petes got it done for less than half. Petes even fixed the door ajar sensor (the stealership said it needed to go to a body shop to pound out a dent in the door). Ive now had 2 bad experiences from 2 different Honda dealers. The first, a transmission component that they wouldnt honor the drivetrain warranty on, and the 2nd being the ridiculous amount of money they wanted for the $100k service. Honda dealers simply wont work with customers. Probably because everyone wants a Honda. I will never take a Honda to the dealer for service again. I will definitely be back to Petes for any major service. It feels good to find a mechanic I can trust. The only thing to be mindful of is that Petes is in high demand, so appointments can be a month or so out. Which in my mind, means that Im not the only satisfied repeat customer. Thats not such a bad thing.

Skye Uyeda INTEGRITY you can trust! Brought my 2012 Acura MDX in for a brake service and oil change; also had an issue regarding a white "reverse" light not working... Lori and Pete did an outstanding job communicating with me throughout the day; I left my vehicle at his shop. When the final bill was complete, there was zero charge for my reverse light. Pete found the light bulb loose and just re-attached it; no charge... Do you believe the dealership would have the integrity and character to tell you the same thing? Enrique Merino Just did a Lamp & Brake Inspection here. Direct fast to the point service, they give you official certs for DMV use. They were also open on Saturday, gave a decent deal compared to 7 others, and got me on my way quick.

R Great service. Took my 2011 335XI and Was in and out within 15min. I found a coupon online for $29.75 + $8.25 certificate fee. Which is a GREAT price. Will definitely be back with my other 3 vehicles.

Stephen H Needed minor work and I was in a pinch. I called Sam and they took my truck in and fixed it and had it back the same day! Super service, I’ve found my new goto shop! Very honest, no upsell. They recommended some things I know need to be done but said everything else looked good. Honesty, hard to find sometimes.

Leila Alexander I traveled from Lakeside to Chula Vista based on a friends recommendation and was impressed with Israels honesty and thorough work. Initially I went there for a simple cosmetic fix, replacing my headlights. Later I decided to take care of some minor mechanical issue that I already had. Israel was incredibly thorough, and rather than replacing the entire part, he identified that a tiny piece was the issue. He replaced it without charging for the unnecessary part he had already ordered for me showcasing remarkable integrity. Any other mechanic would have fixed the small problem and still charge for the part they ordered. I will happily drive the 25 miles it takes to get to the shop to have Israel work on my car.

I would never use anyone else in San Diego. I highly recommend Formula Auto to anyone who wants their car fixed properly - and at a reasonable price. So much better service and value compared to a corporate-run retail workshop. Its always a pleasure doing business with Hugo and his team.
