Discovery Bar & Kitchen - Chico (CA)

1 /5 Sarah L: Tonight, my BF and I gave Discovery Bar & Kitchen a try for the first time. We ordered two burgers. I had the Double Matt burger, and my boyfriend had a burger with rye bread (I dont recall the name). Unfortunately, the burgers were two of the worst burgers we have ever had in Chico. Mine was overcooked to the point that the edges were burnt, and there was almost no sauce to compensate for the terribly dry and underseasoned burger patties. My boyfriend mentioned that his was incredibly underseasoned and the bread was also burnt. It was what seemed to be a slow night for the kitchen, and the thought that we received two poorly cooked burgers, was incredibly disappointing. The beer selection was great, but for two beers, the total was $19 before tip. Had the prices been posted, I might have reconsidered.

5 /5 Michael Smith: We go to trivia there every week. The food is good, I love the Cobb salad, and the service from Katy-Ann and Kayla is great. Its one of the few places that we like going to regularly.

2 /5 Nicole Bird: The food is good, but the service is terrible. We were ignored by the servers. My husband had his credit card out to pay, and the male server made eye contact and kept walking. The other server ignored us even though we were right next to another table she was waiting on. We ended up having to go to the bar to order food. Another table nearby had people get there after us and they still got their food before we did. She was only focused on the table where friends of hers were sitting and completely ignored us. My husband ended up having to go to the bar to pay too. In the past the waiters were very nice and attentive. I dont know what changed, but they need to fix it before they go out of business. We will not be going there again, since it seems they dont want our money anyway

5 /5 Kial Ryan: Im a regular here and have been for several months. The pokemon bartender is so fun and the orange bartender always has some amazing alcohol recommendations. The food is so good. I always get the foggy noodles or the Saturday night Caesar (add fried chicken). Get a disco marg too! Best in town!

5 /5 Tanner Johns: Discovery is an instant hit in Chico. Owned by Chico locals, the ambiance is exactly what Im looking for while dining out with family or stopping by for a drink at the bar. The restaurant, bar, and restrooms were all clean and the whole place felt comfortable and welcoming. The staff is friendly and the food was prepared quickly and was DELICIOUS. My chicken sandwich was excellent and I dont know what they fermented the coleslaw cabbage/carrots in but it was divine. Coleslaw can be such an afterthought at most restaurants but this was most definitely not the case. It was also served with a generous portion of string fries cooked excellently and not too greasy. Note: the picture of the chicken sandwich was after Id helped myself to a handful (or two) of fries. Mississippi Mud Cake was divine. My kids devoured the buttery noodles and grilled cheese sandwich. The whole family was VERY happy and well definitely be going back. I wish Id taken more photos before my family had devoured everything.
