5 /5 Janessa Haasbeek: My husband and I were flying into town on his birthday the Sunday after Christmas. We didnt have any reservations because we were not sure how we feel when we landed.
We ended up wanting to go out for a quick dinner, called ahead, and they thankfully had open availability and told us to come right in. This was one of the BEST meals we have had in a very long time. The service and hospitality was unmatched. Specifically our waiter, Michael, took amazing care of us.
We had told him that we were celebrating my husbands birthday. Unfortunately, it being after a holiday and at the end of the weekend, the entree that my husband wanted was sold out. Michael made our appetizer into an entree size, brought us both a fantastic glass of wine and this unreal bread basket with garlic ----all of which he had comped for us.
As for the rest of the food, it was one of the best meals that we have had in a very very long time. Everything was delicious. The homemade bread is fresh and especially wonderful with the garlic. Additionally, the balsamic vinegar was amazing. My husband loved the octopus. The short rib pasta was outstanding. The meat was incredibly tender and flavorful, practically melting into the sauce, and paired perfectly with the pasta. Lastly, the European sea bass was cooked to perfection, tasty, and fresh.
To end the meal, Michael brought us the fried-to-order beignets. This was the perfect way to end my husbands birthday. The beignets were light, airy, and beautifully crisp on the outside while soft and fluffy on the inside. They immediately reminded us of puff puff, a beloved Nigerian treat from my husband’s culture. The texture and flavor were very similar, bringing a comforting, nostalgic feeling with every bite. It was such a meaningful way to end the night.
We live out of town, but will 1000000% be back. Thank you!!!
