1 /5 R. Alexander Steele: As a longtime local who used to really enjoy Bridgehead Café, I’m sad to say that since the change in ownership, this place just isn’t what it used to be. The old charm, friendly faces, and hearty, delicious meals that once made it a favorite in the community are gone.
Under the new management, the service has become inconsistent and inattentive. There’s no longer that warm, welcoming vibe, instead, it feels like the staff is just going through the motions and bothered that one is expecting to be served. The food is okay at best: somewhat palatable, but the higher prices, smaller portions, and lack of flavor leave you feeling underwhelmed and not really eager to come back.
The atmosphere has also shifted noticeably. It’s clear the focus is now more on karaoke nights and happy hour than on being a cozy, family-friendly diner. While that might appeal to some, it’s disappointing for those of us who remember when this was a go-to spot for a good meal and genuine service.
It’s telling that the parking lot is often nearly empty despite a wave of overly positive paid reviews online, something that speaks for itself. I truly hope the owners take the feedback to heart and work to bring back the quality, service, and heart that once made Bridgehead Café a gem in Antioch.
