Awful Annie’s - Auburn (CA)

5 /5 Casch52: Great breakfast venue with a country flare. Portions are large and flavorful. We really enjoyed the cinnamon French toast. The owl nuts are huge and we really love the spiced tea that they serve. Service was superb and though the lines were long we got seated relatively quickly. Waitress checked with us to see if we needed anything Amber quick to reply with requests.

3 /5 Fair Jason (Nomadic Nerd Project): The food was decent, albeit not super hot. I always mark things down for not being hot. It means it was as all just sitting there, plated quickly without care. The bacon flight was limp, not hot bacon. It should be thick cut and crispy. The sugar should also be caramelized, not grainy. The bloody mary mix was good, albeit annoying I had to ask for bacon that should have come standard on it. The crab cake benedict was deep fried and bready, not flavorful. The carnitas benedict was tasty, not enough Chipotle, but warm, not hot. Overall, it wasnt up to the hype this place gets.

4 /5 William Diggs: Solid breakfast spot right off the freeway. This visit was for a Parmesan crusted grilled cheese eggs Benedict. Sourdough grilled cheese with bacon two fried eggs and holidase sauce. Country potatoes and an added fruit salad. Enough for two,rich and satisfying. Fresh fruit helped cut some of the guilt of the main order. Plenty of Breakfast and lunch items on the menu and a full bar. Plenty of parking out front and they close at 2:30pm.
