4 /5 Rehman Ali: A gastronomic gem of Oakland, Agave Uptown was the perfect place for a work lunch. The citrus infused water lets you know that this place pays attention to detail. I got a mango cocktail that was really refreshing.
For my lunch I ordered the coastal bowl with sea bass. The sea bass was perfectly cooked, tender, flaky, and the chef did not overpower the dish with salt. The natural flavors of the seasonal vegetables and the sea bass itself shined.
And that is truly what is so great about the food here: flavor comes from the complex combination of ingredients and not from salt or spices masking the ingredients.
The quality of food here is top-notch, complemented with attentive, friendly service, set with comforting, rustic ambiance. Highly recommend.
