5 /5 Maryrose Sweeting: Beautiful historic building in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. You could spend hours just exploring the grounds. The NEX is a short walk as well as a beautiful lake with a fountain that I didn’t stop to take a photo of. We stayed over night at the Hotel Del Monte in a deluxe Queen suite. The bed was so comfortable and the room had a kitchen. The only down side was the second Queen was a pull out couch and my kids were so uncomfortable and they were freezing all night (they didn’t tell me until the morning). This was the cleanest hotel we have ever stayed in!!! They have a ticket I& tours office conveniently located inside the hotel but it’s closed on weekends. There was also a restaurant and a bar. We had dinner in the bar and they were out of half of the menu and our waitress disappeared a couple of times. The staff seemed more interested in talking to each other than checking on the 3 tables of customers. There was a complimentary breakfast which I highly recommend you arrive early for because they do not restock. Once it’s out, it’s out! We found out as we were leaving our building actually connected to the main building on the bottom floor. So if we had more than one night to explode I’m sure we would have found other ways to navigate the giant property.
