Pepper Ann The sermon was great the music? Meh.. bland at best.. three stars because today I did not appreciate politics being brought to the church. Its one thing the tell people vote their hearts by doing the research on each and every candidate. Its another something the tell people how to vote.(there was a actual sheet of paper telling you how to vote!) I struggle to see where that is biblically supported. Then to bring some strange women into the church to allow her to kiss babies and shake hands and spew her on political views, has probably put the nail in the coffin of me ever going back. That and the lack of diversity on all levels. To bad I thought my family and I were going to call this church home... but the search continues.

Seth Herndon Full disclosure: I may be a bit biased in this, since this is my church family. But Ive been to a lot of different churches over the years, and I still havent found one as authentic as this one. Nothing against other churches in that! I truly believe that God meets us where we are and draws us closer to Him in His own time, and that churches with different service structures, etc. are an active part of that. I also believe that all churches comprised of followers of Christ are part of His larger Church. But I LOOOOOVE my local church family!
Pastor Bob (or just Bob, as he prefers to be called) is a genuine and authentic lover of Christ and His people. I meet with Him regularly, and hes never shy about revealing his own struggles, flaws, and humanity. He regularly incorporates these into his sermons and lets the congregation know that hes nobody more special than anyone else. Hes real about people, loves them wholeheartedly, and believes in building bridges to the unsaved, re-churching the unchurched, and drawing people to a personal relationship with Jesus. He truly practices what he preaches, and Im so happy to call him on of my best friends.
I lead worship at this church most weeks, so I wont comment on the quality of the music, lest my comments be construed as something other than an outside perspective. But I will comment on the quality of people in the worship team. I have more fun leading this group of misfits (trust me, they wont take offense to this) than I do in anything else in my life (other than my Marriage, my children, or my relationship with Jesus). Their dedication to worshiping God is something incredible. They too are real people, and they have absolutely no interest in being the focus of attention on Sunday mornings (this is a pre-requisite during auditions). Every one of them is a follower of Christ and a disciple of His Word and teachings. Its my absolute pleasure to lead them, and to lead the congregation in worshiping the one true Savior Of The World.
Lastly, the elders and ministry leaders in this church have more compassion, genuine love, and investment in Gods people than Ive ever experienced. Tony, Allan, and Mark are amazing men of God. They too practice what they preach and are always looking for Gods direction in their lives. Ive walked with them all through struggles, pain, and mountains in their lives, and Ive seen their utter dependence on God in every instance. They forward this into their dealings with people in their own struggles, and treat people as people...not calculations. Again, Im so incredibly blessed to call them my friends.

This is a spiritual hospital, and the broken gather here every week to hear from God, be loved on by other broken people, and worship the One who saves.
