  • Bakar Fitness & Recreation Center at UCSF Mission Bay - San Francisco
Brian Simpson: Ive been pretty happy with my membership. Mostly there for the outdoor pool. Heated, very cozy indoorpool too. Staff is nice! The other patrons seems chill. The gym is spread out across a few levels and is really well laid out.
Eden Fitness Studio - San Francisco
Amelia Sheppard: I no longer live in the area, but visit occasionally for 1-2 week time periods. I needed a place to work out that worked with this schedule and Eden has been perfect! Tammy, the owner, has created a beautiful and safe space for women to work out. She herself is incredibly welcoming and kind, and made it easy to get started. The Eden app is easy to use to purchase credits and schedule visits. The gym itself is equipped with everything you need for a great session. Eden has made it incredibly easy to stay consistent while traveling, and I can’t wait for my next trip!
Live Fit Gym • Castro - San Francisco
Amelia James Scott: I really wanted to like this gym, especially given its prime location in the Castro and the fact that it’s locally owned — but unfortunately, it just hasn’t lived up to expectations. The biggest issue is the cleanliness and maintenance. Equipment is often out of order for weeks at a time, and the overall facility doesn’t feel well-kept. The bathrooms and locker rooms could use much more regular cleaning, especially during busy hours. It just doesn’t feel like a space where cleanliness is a priority.
    Crunch Fitness - San Francisco
Caroline Kiley: Great club, minimal crowd (never had to wait for a machine or rack), clean with tons of equipment! Also the ambiance is top tier!!! Best gym in the Marina/Cow Hollow/Russian Hill area by far.
    MX3 Fitness - San Francisco
Phil Heuring: Recently started taking Small Group fitness classes at MX3 Mission location. LOVE!! It’s a fab cardio/strength circuit style workout. Classes are tiny (max ~6) so you get tons of personal attention on form. It feels like paying for a group class but getting a personal trainer (Shoutout to Will!). The space is immaculate too. 10/10
City Sports Club - San Francisco
    City Sports Club
Drew Bekins: This place is an absolute dumpster fire. The weights are never racked in their appropriate spots. Never enough cleaning/disinfecting wipes available. Bathroom upstairs has been closed weeks on end. The equipment is routinely broken. The showers are pitiful with sometimes no shower soap/gel in the dispensers. The shower curtains basically have black mold/mildew. The only upside is that it is probably one of the cheaper gyms in the city.

Cristian Jara-Figueroa: Noe needed a gym like this! I was a customer in their Castro and Mission location and I was beyond excited to hear they were opening in Noe. TLDR, brand new equipment, you get a private station when you book so no fighting for weights, and their online reservation systems works very well. I’ve never had an issue booking a spot, even when I do it last minute.
    Custom Fit - San Francisco
Billy Mazotti: I played competitive baseball most of my life and I can say without a doubt that Brandon Tran is the best trainer I’ve worked with. Each workout session is completely different and keeps me engaged. My wife and I do the partner workouts, and Brandon does an amazing job at making sure we’re both getting in a good workout even if it means we are doing different exercises. After working out with Brandon over a year, I feel stronger than I’ve ever felt.
    Crunch Fitness - San Francisco
Allen Li: Last time I went there was only one usable bench near the dumbbells out of 4. Two were under maintenance and someone had moved one to a squat rack. They’ve been broken for a week. I spent 15 minutes out of my 45 minute workout waiting for a bench. Fix your equipment!!!

Christa W.: The gym as a whole meh and left me wanting more but there was one thing...or person...that kept me coming back... James Cho was INCREDIBLE to work with. He was thoughtful in his approach and very professional throughout our time working together, both of which are high on my priority with working with a trainer or coach of any kind. I had three goals coming in: 1) Get comfortable strength training again, 2) improve mobility, 3) increase lean muscle mass. He helped with all three. Im down 17 pounds, Im sprinting again largely due to improved mobility, my energy has improved tremendously, and according to Oura Ive turned back the clock on my cardiovascular capacity by three years. While I cant exclusively attribute this to my work with James, his training has played a meaningful role. I would work with him again and highly highly high recommend.
