Jamie Della: I have been seeing Jackie on a weekly basis for nearly two years. We began strengthening my weak ankles then progressed to core strength and whole body fitness. I love the extra attention I feel from Jackie who prepares a tailored Pilates workout for me every time.
    Anytime Fitness - Monterey
    Anytime Fitness
Will Entrekin: Place is mighty if small. Terrifically managed, always clean, and good atmosphere. I can do a full body workout in half an hour at a push. The size means you have to be flexible in workouts, and it may not have some equipment, but has everything you need, and Andrea is both friendly and helpful.
    Monterey Core Fitness - Monterey
Alice Mundle: Monterey core fitness is the bomb! Alli is one of the best trainers I have ever had. She pushes you to do more and become better at whatever the workout. She is so willing to help with any questions or concerns and really make the whole experience fantastic and on top of that the gym is spotless and has all the best equipment. I couldn’t recommend this place more!
    The Lab Monterey - Monterey
Angela Bucci: I love the classes. Its a great community. The coaches are super friendly and knowledgeable. The movements and exercises we do are entirely out of my wheelhouse; I would have never made a program like this myself and therefore think the Lab worth the money. I just show up and know Im in for something good. I still do workouts outside of the classes for my own athletic goals and hobbies, but the program is overall robust and balanced. Theres a lot of modifications to exercises that can be made, and once you get to know the coaches, they can further direct you. The classes are a great addition for more advanced athletes while being a suitable foundational program for beginners.
    In-Shape Fitness - Monterey
    In-Shape Fitness
Michael: Positives: Lots of machines and great hours of operation! Super convenient! Negatives: Increasingly problematic negative is the time to repair broken equipment. See pics. Some machines out for many months!! Locker rooms arent particularly nice with many broken lockers and jury rigged repairs.
    Monterey Sports Center - Monterey
BackpackingAndy: I used this gym for a few days while I was at a conference. It is a pretty comprehensive gym with plenty of free weights and machines. The day pass is a bit expensive which was the only option for me unfortunately but all else was good. Price point of $10 would be so much appreciated from a traveler’s perspective.
    First City Fitness - Monterey
Adrianna Spangler: My husband and I worked out at First City for about 8 months while working in the area. We loved this gym and will definitely return if we ever come back to the area! Fun classes, fun members, and coaching that is accommodating to all skill levels. Coming here was something we really looked forward to after work! Thanks Frank for a great few months!!
    Price Fitness Center - Monterey
Tom Mc: Much of the equipment is on the older side, especially cardio equipment… gym feels like it hasn’t changed since the early 2000s. Bright spot is the functional fitness area in the gymnasium which includes ropes to climb.
    Golds Gym Monterey - Monterey
Caio Silva: The gym has plenty of space and a good variety of weights, but it’s been neglected. Some equipment has been under maintenance for over four months, like the crossover machine, which is one of the most in-demand. A few machines have broken parts, making it difficult to adjust them for proper use. The gym itself is good, but it’s one of the least well-maintained. If you’re thinking about signing up for an annual plan, make sure to visit first and check the equipment and adjustment parts before deciding to pay. And also check the water pressure of the water fountain. After so many months without maintenance, it takes 5 minutes to fill a bottle.
    NPS Gym - Monterey
Tosh Gibson: Small gym, but clean and equipped with variety of equipment for use. There are tennis courts, basketball court, bath house, and bicycles to rent out.
