Body Mechanix Fitness - Castro Valley
Vidya Thakur: I had a great experience at Body Mechanix in Castro Valley! The trainer Margaret was knowledgeable, motivating, and really supportive throughout the workout. The vibe in the studio is so positive and welcoming, and the workout itself was both challenging and fun. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a solid fitness community!
    Bellafit - Hayward
    Phight Club - Hayward
lance -cube irl-: Pretty good place, a guy with a pink crystal and some robots kept on following me around though, but I made friends with a guy with a green boombox and a visor. Definitely will revisit.
Crossfit One World & Self Defense - Union City
Nicole Ho: Being relatively new to the East Bay, I wanted to find a gym and community nearby. I’ve always been intimated by CrossFit and so I was glad to stumble on a bootcamp classes option on Classpass. Coach JP and Mo were so friendly and welcoming and after the first class, I was craving to come back again and again. I then signed up for a Saturday bootcamp but the ClassPass app was having a glitch and messed up the schedule. They introduced me to the CrossFit and the rest is history. I’ve been coming to OW for a little over a year. Everyone from the coaches, to the staff, to the members have been nothing but welcoming. If you’re ever keen to joining a community, look no further. Thank you One World!
    Bay Club Pleasanton - Pleasanton
Dane Kingshill: Outstanding club that allows you to do different things every time. Hard to meet new people as everyone is doing their own thing. Wish spin class instructors would learn to turn down music volume. Impossible to hear instructors as the music blocks 90% of what they try to say. Other than that excellent clean and great value for money.
9Round Kickboxing Fitness - San Leandro
Kayleigh Zmoda: If you’re looking to try a new gym or switch up your workout routine, I cannot recommend 9Round in San Leandro enough. I never considered myself an avid gym-goer because I was always afraid of using equipment wrong or looking silly doing an exercise. But the moment I walked into 9Round San Leandro, all those fears disappeared the second Ceez greeted me. The whole vibe of the gym is kind, friendly, and welcoming. During my first visit, I was personally walked through every single round and shown exactly how to do each station. It made jumping in so easy, and for the first time, I truly felt comfortable trying something new. The workouts change every day, so you never get bored, but one thing that always stays the same is how you’re treated. You’re welcomed like family and cheered on every time you walk through the door. One of my favorite things is that there are no class times, you can jump in whenever works best for you. Since I’m still learning good form and correct technique, I like coming when the trainers are there. Just like on day one, they’re always right beside you to support you, coach you, and make sure you’re doing everything safely. No more weird kettlebell swings for me! This is the kind of place you actually want to come back to every day. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know both the members and the staff. 9Round is one of those gyms where you try it once and immediately know if kickboxing is for you. So why not give it a shot? You just might end up part of the family and have a lot of fun getting your workouts in, too.
