    Erin Kelley: This is a solid Planet Fitness location with plenty to offer. What I liked: ⬆️ Spacious layout: Equipment is spread across two floors, with locker rooms downstairs. ⬆️ Very clean: The facility is well-maintained. ⬆️Friendly staff: Emilio and Marcus were particularly awesome. ⬆️Great Black Card perks: Includes Cryo Lounge chair, hydro and chair massage, tanning, and red light therapy, plus a spacious lounge area. ⬆️Ample parking: Convenient and hassle-free. ⬆️Extensive equipment: Tons of cardio, strength machines (including Hammer), and functional training gear. ⬆️ 24/7 access: Perfect for early birds like me who work out at 4 AM, even on weekends. I wish more gyms offered this. ⬆️Interactive spin bikes: Love that you can stream web services on your phone while cycling. What I wish they had: ➡️ More free weights: Barbells, squat racks, sleds, and heavier kettlebells would be great—not just at this location but across all Planet Fitness gyms. ➡️ Soap in showers: The showers and locker rooms are nice, but soap would be a welcome addition.

    Dana Nguyen: I’ve been a loyal member of In-Shape for almost a decade, but I recently relocated to Salinas and started visiting this location in mid-2024. While I appreciate the spacious workout environment, I’ve noticed a decline in the gym’s overall quality. One significant issue, as mentioned by another reviewer, is the cleaning standards. They replaced the rags we used to spray disinfectant with small wipes, but these wipes are often out of stock. Consequently, many machines remain unwashed, which is a major concern for maintaining hygiene. I rarely get sick, but I’m currently writing this review sick on my couch, upset since I haven’t interacted with any sick kids or other people. I just work out, get fit, go to work, and be at home. Another issue is the inconsistency in cleanliness of the bathrooms. While some days they are clean, they are often not, which is a fundamental aspect of any gym environment. I hope things improve, but for now, meh.

    Leviticus Azul Vargas Castillo: Every day I step foot in this gym I always get a intense but amazing workout that gets me back into shape fast, the 24/7 access comes in handy when having to work or go to school during class sessions, Hector always starts you off right and then helps build up your strength also works well with working around injuries, Definitely recommend joining and staying at this gym!!

    Brian Navarro: Ive been coming to this In-Shape location since February 2022, and it’s been consistently great! One thing I really appreciate is how clean this gym is, from the workout areas to the basketball court, everything is well-maintained. The staff is always super helpful and friendly, and the machines are in top shape with a great variety to choose from. It’s clear the team puts effort into keeping things running smoothly. The basketball court is also kept clean, which I really like. My only small gripe is that some of the basketballs are often low on air, so you have to be picky about which one you grab. But other than that, this place has everything I need for a solid workout. Highly recommend this gym, it’s been a great place to train and make progress!

    Brian Navarro: Planet Fitness at Northridge Mall is a really well-kept and welcoming gym. The place is always clean — I often see staff actively tidying up and sanitizing equipment, which is great to see. The team here is also very helpful and quick to answer questions. While most of the machines are cardio-focused, the selection of weight machines is still solid and covers the essentials. Overall, it’s a great gym with a friendly vibe and a clean, comfortable environment to get a good workout in!

    Kathleen Giacalone: After years of requesting for an extra fan in the workout room, they finally got one which I appreciate. The cleaning staff seem to be doing a much better job. I wish management will put up a more noticeable sign that states that when classes are in session, ONLY people attending classes can be in the room. A hanging sign on the door would be great for the instructor to show that class is in session. Also, staff needs to be more organized with class schedules. Not sure how much communication there are between management and instructors. Social media needs to be updated much more frequently. Class sizes seem to be getting smaller and worry about cancellation of classes. Overall the location, parking and staff are good. Needs to be a bit more organized with alerts to members on social media. Used to have a staff in charge of all the group classes but since she’s left, it’s been a bit of a mess with communication. I’ve been a member since they’ve opened this location and hope to remain. Think you need to market your classes to get more members to participate. Need to maintain good instructors. Thanks!

I love the positive environment, the routines are always different and challenging, the gym is clean, the staff is outgoing, and everyone is super supportive of others individual journey. If you enjoy the community vibe and want to step up your fitness level, this is a great place to do so.

    Sharon Harney: I have been a member since 2013. The gym is clean, the equipment reliable, the staff is awesome and its just an all around fun place to workout. Iris and David Alessandro have worked really hard to provide an outdoor gym for us during this time of COVID. It just speaks to their dedication to their clients and our good health.
