5 /5 San: Not just another luxury gym but a positive community. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, great music that keeps you pushing towards your goals, fitness minded members.
The quality of the gym is superb. The dumbbells are well balanced that you notice as you pick them up. The machines are smooth and top notch compared to competitors. I’ve used lat pull down machines at other gyms and the angles were just not right, you need to try Lux’s lat pull down machine and you’ll understand. The gym is more focused on strength training/body building, but overall has everything you need for a well rounded workout. Bands, pull up bars, kettlebells, suspension straps, yoga mats, foam rollers, sled, turf area. Great for mobility/stability training too.
Lots of influencers, but everyone so far has been respectful and it’s actually quite motivating to strive towards my goals. Being around a community where we have similar goals is a good thing. When I’m lifting at my upper limit, people are ready to spot you.
The staff has been great. They pay attention to detail and take feedback very seriously. They are continually making improvements to the space. I mentioned to the owner that a lift/jack would be nice to have for the deadlifting platform and soon after there’s one.
I think pricing is fair. I came from Fitness 19, 24 hour fitness, Crunch fitness, and Equinox. The discount gyms are overcrowded, not in great shape, red light therapy machines are out of order frequently, and do not offer showers. And constantly being hounded for personal training sessions can get annoying. I would say Lux is more in line with Equinox than the other gyms, but without the pool, but less expensive than Equinox. The equipment is a lot nicer than Equinox’s. Lux is a great balance of amenities and price that offers you the space to achieve your fitness goals.
