1 /5 Jesse Mueller: I was referred by the Monterey Country Referal service where you pay $50 for a sit down 30 minute consultation. Kenneth called me while he was leaving work and was "late for an appointmen". Immediately I could tell I was bothering him before I even started as he condescendingly asked me what I needed. I told him I dont have everything in front of me because I was at work. He replied, "just give me the jist of it" in a hurried tone. I replied, I was hoping to have a sit down consultation because I dont have all the information in front of me and there are two parties in this claim. He insisted I tell him what was going on and that he can help over the phone. I explained what was happening and he barely listened and turned me to a State agency for help regarding my claim. When I asked for clarification, he said I dont need representation because the State agency will represent me. When I asked about the other claims that dont apply to the State agency, he said harshly, "I already told you they will help you!" He was so rude that I called back the referral service and got another referral for free. I dont normally stand my ground like that but forcing me to do a 30 minute consultation over the phone when Im not prepared, and then only spending 17 minutes of my $50 worth to rudely send me somewhere else because it obviously wasnt worth his time was just blatant disrespect. Its lawyers like this that give all lawyers the bad name they have. Total waste of my time, and an obvious waste of his for how he was behaving. Ive had more respectful conversations with children. And, to top it off, I spent 45 minutes on the phone with that State agency and they were like, "I dont know why the lawyer would refer you to us saying we will represent you, we dont represent either side of claims." Of course you dont...Ken just wanted me off the phone because my case was probably too small for him.
