Basecamp Fitness Santa Monica - Santa Monica
Megan Chait: Such a great community! All of the coaches are wonderful and bring their own personalities. Nick and Jason are my favorites because they always push me - even when I don’t want to push myself. Sometimes the music / microphones can be too loud. Overall a great place to workout at and meet new people that can become friends.
Crossroads Gym - Santa Monica
Guthrie Paterson: Great shopping center in North County SD. Plenty of spots to eat and shop. And easy access to the highway. Only downside is the tough parking on the weekends.
DMN8 - Main St. - Santa Monica
Ana Frandell: A good gym is essential for a healthy lifestyle—mind, body, and spirit. The energy here is clean, focused, and uplifting. It’s a space that feels both welcoming and motivating the moment you walk in Jordan is an incredible instructor. She creates well-balanced, challenging workouts and brings great energy to every class. Her people skills are top-notch—she offers helpful guidance and corrections without disrupting the flow. You can tell she genuinely cares about each person’s experience and progress
Barrys Santa Monica - Santa Monica
Omar Meza: Super clean space, all employees were great. Shout out to Pepper at the front desk for a great introduction to Barry’s Santa Monica. It was my first time taking a Barry’s class, and after my experience here I would definitely come back again!
Sessions Personal Training - Santa Monica - Santa Monica
Peter T: I came into town visiting for a work trip and stumbled across sessions personal training. I am an avid fitness goer, and finding this gem in Santa Monica was what I needed during my work trip. The gym is beautiful the owner Evan was incredibly nice and the bathrooms were immaculate. They focus on personal training, but we’re happy to open their doors to me during my visit. Can’t recommend them enough
Fitstop Santa Monica - Santa Monica
Helen Menasche: Santa Monicas best kept secret. If you asked me 6 months ago that Id go to the gym every day AND enjoy it, Id think you were CRAZY! Before Fitstop, I never lifted a barbell in my life. The atmosphere is so welcoming to all levels, and I cant believe the progress Ive made (with no short cuts). The excellent coaches (S/O to Johnnie and Semaj) make sure you are doing movements the right way to avoid injury but also to make sure to properly strengthen the correct muscles. You rarely work out alone and partners help keep me going. The team/group aspect plus the incredible, well-vetted trainers makes this the best gym! It doesnt hurt that the facility is clean and rarely crowded. Two huge bonuses: ▪︎Plenty of free parking in the lot, not street parking! ▪︎Fitstop is on ClassPass.
F45 Training Santa Monica Main St - Santa Monica
Gilda Bahremand: Had an amazing session with Coach Josh! F45 Santa Monica delivers a true full-body workout. The studio is spotless and the class setup is excellent. I’ll definitely be back.
Santa Monica Family YMCA - Santa Monica
Fouad Alkisswani: Let me first say this is primarily a fitness facility - a role performed exceptionally well. Firstly, they have a sauna and steam room unlike Equinox, John Reed, and FRD, which are about double in price. Plus, a huge pool, spaces to get work done, a basketball court, a litany of classes and a great location right across from Santa Monica Main Library. My mom (who lives in VA) gifted me a membership and the online process was seamless as was final in-person registration for me. One gripe; however. We paid for a dedicated locker and it took me a day to buy an actual lock. When I went to put it on my locker, someone was using the locker. I went to the front desk and they said "just wait for whomever it is to leave." Feedback indicating that a best practice is to indicate day lockers from paid permanent lockers (all gyms Ive ever been to clearly indicate that) fell on deaf ears. They were nice; however, in how they said "we dont care." For
Row House Fitness Santa Monica - Santa Monica
Row House Fitness Santa Monica
Andrea Fiorentini Del RĂo: I was a first time student on October 11th. I want to write this review to reach management. I thought the class and coach Sara were wonderful and besides this one terrible experience at the Santa Monica location, everything else was great. Sadly, the front of house person that day ruined my experience. I was a new student trying to figure out the gym and this staff person was extraordinarily unhelpful, and close to verbally abusive. I was mystified by the treatment. Until that person no longer works at the gym, I unfortunately will not be going back and can not recommend the gym to anyone.
Bay Club Santa Monica - Santa Monica
Sheri Rose-McCashin, LMFT: A pleasure to train at the Bay Club Santa Monica. Diana P. is the manager and has made it an exceptional place to train. She is a knowledgeable trainer herself as well as a hands on administrator in the fitness business for many years.I have witnessed her immediate responsiveness to members and ability to competently address their needs. The club itself provides a wonderful, clean, space with amenities. I am glad to have found this gym after the closure of the Palisades Bay Club. 1/18/2025
