5 /5 linda rosen: After the Palisades fire, my husband’s wedding ring was found under two feet of ash—damaged but thankfully intact. I reached out to David, and even though he had lost both his home and his store, he offered to meet me at a house in Santa Monica where he and his family were staying.
When I arrived, I saw a long table covered with jewelry from other fire victims—pieces he was carefully cleaning and restoring, one by one.
David took the time to clean our ring with the utmost care, calling me with updates to make sure none of the design details were lost. A few days later, I picked it up in a beautiful box—he wouldn’t accept payment, just said he was happy to help.
David and his family have created custom pieces and repaired or cleaned several items for us over the years. He’s a trusted, local, and talented jeweler—and a genuinely kind person.
His new studio at 632 Montana Avenue is beautifully designed, absolutely chic, and well worth a visit. You won’t see a storefront from the street—it’s tucked away upstairs—but take the time to find it. You’ll be glad you did.
